Black Belt Testing

Black Belt Testing Takes place 2 times a year in spring and autumn at our alhambra location. It showcases what our most advanced students have learned while studying Jang Mu Won Hapkido.

Please no recording or photos while viewing the test.

what to expect

The event can take anywhere from one to three hours depending on the number of testers. There will be a panel of Ten or more black belts ranging from third to ninth degree that will judge, assess, and advise testers at the end of their examination. The test will proceed as follows:

  • Introduction (Bowing to the flags)

  • Kicking

  • Weapons

  • Technique

  • Conference

In terms of what order students will take their test. Black Belt Candidates (1st degree Testers) will go first, then 2nd degree testers, and so on. Depending on amount of testers per test, we may separate into groups, alternating between who is presenting for each technique (if Group a is doing first moving, then group b will do first moving next).

Payment

Payment is due at least one week before testing with your application. You will only have to pay the testing fee once, if you fail you do not have to pay for that degree test again. this fee is paid to the association, and pays for the black belt judges.

Black Belt Dues

Current Black belts that attend class are required to pay an annual fee based on their degree.
