Self-defense for adults
Ages 13 & Up
Our teen and adult classes are offered for students who wish to learn how to defend yourself from an attacker or for those who want a great workout.
Teenage and adult students who wish to train with other students similar to their size can train in the evening. Our all belt classes at night welcome beginner, intermediate and advance students of all belt colors. Our classes are designed to increase your physical endurance, flexibility and self confidence. We incorporate self defense drills such as defense against punching and kicking, defense against multiple grabs as well as control techniques such as joint locks and pressure point techniques!
Each class is taught by a certified Jang Mu Won Hapkido black belt instructor.

With an emphasis on Hapkido fundamentals you'll learn kicks that help your stretch, kicks that strengthen your core and hips, and basic but effective kicks. Defense against striking techniques focus on a system of movement and blocks/parries that are efficient when used in combination.

Here you will learn powerful kicks such as our back kick or spin kick. You will also learn to chain kicks into effective combinations that control distance and tempo. Techniques will now consist of locks, twists, and throws against striking and grappling opponents.

At this level you will begin to learn and understand the core principles of Hapkido (circle, water, and harmony). You've been practicing these principles throughout your study here through our striking and grappling techniques, but now you will be able to identify them and decide which to utilize.
hapkido is a complete martial art that teaches how to unbalance an opponent through striking and/or grappling and use that advantage to take the opponent down and finish the fight. It can be ruthless and efficient, but also lends itself to elegant techniques that require finesse and attention to detail.
